So Samuel and i have still been waking up at about 5ish every morning, and can't fall back asleep. But i wasn't going to complain because then i got to see him before he went to work. We ate breakfast together and off he went. I then proceeded to clean up our room and start putting things away... hanging things in our tiny little closet that the hangers only fit in if they are slanted, and put our clothes in our cupboards with only a bottom shelf. after i did that i decided to get SKYPE going so i could talk to family... while i was doing that i realized i could pay $14 and get like 500 mins of calling to landlines through skype... so i did it and called home!! it was so good to be able to talk to mom and dad and ben for a little bit!
Then it was off to find the workout room, which samuel helped me to locate before we ate breakfast. I walked in to a room full of weights and bikes and treadmills. i was way excited, but forgot my water bottle, so i ran back upstairs to get it and came back down... but this time as soon as i walked in a chinese guy came up to me and started saying stuff in chinese, the only thing i understood was "20 yuan" (thank goodness samuel taught me to count at least). so after trying to figure out what he was saying for a while, i gave up... knowing it cost money to use the work out room, but not knowing how much or for how long or what the heck i was paying for! i came back up to my room flustered! so then i decided to go to the grocery store to get some more hangers, detergent, facewash, etc. But while i was there everyone was trying to talk to me in chinese... a lady by the laundry detergent was trying to convince me to by this 40 yuan laundry detergent, in chinese! i told her "english?" and she just kept going in chinese i guess trying to convince me that this was the best detergent. I just grabbed some and ran... luckily though i found some tide in the next isle for 8 yuan! i was excited! then i go to the cash register and ladies are trying to get me to put my basket in their cart (no one caries a basket, they get a cart and put the basket in their cart... weird!) and then the guy at the register was trying to talk to me and i'm just like... sorry! so then i came home and stayed home until samuel got there... i wasn't even about to try and go out to get something for lunch!
When Samuel did get home we went to get some fried chicken that was way spicy with some of the interns... but they didn't have very much, so then went across from our hotel and got some PIZZA!!! it tastes just like my Dad's homemade pizza... it was wonderful! then we came home and Samuel was so exhausted from work (i will have him post something about work) that we fell asleep... only to wake up this morning at like 5am again... hahaha!
