So tonight we were sitting in our room watching Lion King II and Kyle (another intern) knocks on our door. He had told us earlier that they were having dinner with the President of LG in Tianjin, and now we were invited to come along! I of course was sooooo nervous... eating with the president of LG in Tianjin, but he was totally cool and took us to the nicest restaurant ever! he told us it is the largest restaurant in Tianjin, and i can believe it. (we were so sad that we didn't' bring a camera... but me and charisse (Kyle's Wife) want to go back just to take pictures). You walk in the front door and their are like 8 people their to great you... and on your right is a Shark Tank with like 12-15 medium sized sharks in it. then you go farther in and they have fish all over in tanks. so as the president walked around and picked out our dinner (from the fresh fish selections) we walked around and saw the biggest crabs and lobsters ever... all kinds of sea turtles, soft shelled sea turtles (which we think is endangered), logger head turtles, fish, frogs, sea urchins, and many more things that we couldn't identify. and then they had a pool with 2 seals... and we got to feed them!! it was the coolest thing ever! we got one to clap his hands and slap the water... the other would just make crazy noises... but they were like 2 feet away from us... and jumped up to the railing and you could feed them out of your hands. it was AWESOME! then we went upstairs to a private room where we ate with the president and his wife. we started with some chicken and beef dishes (everything on a huge turntable (lazy susan?) in the middle of the round table) cucumbers, other green vegetables, the most amazing fish ever (with his head and tail on the plate... we think it was a flounder... but it definitely came out of one of the tanks we saw downstairs) and the freshest shrimp i will ever eat (no joke, i had to decapitate it... it still had its eyeballs, pull the shell off and feet and then eat it.... we believe that also came from a tank we saw downstairs) some fruit, and a pineapple roll thing. The craziest thing though was this mushroom the size of my hand (not kidding) and like an inch think! it looked like a steak when they put it in front of me... and cut like a steak... but it definitely was no steak! still good though. EVERYTHING was amazing. and the president was so cool... he said the meal was for me and Charisse... because we were the bravest for coming her with our husbands. but i can't even imagine how much he spent on our meal. Kyle caught a glimpse at the menu and it looked like things started at like 360 yuan... which is like $40. so expensive for china and America.
i was really impressed with the president though... he asked a lot of questions, wanting to make sure our stay was comfortable. He got upset when he found out we didn't get English TV! lol! but he was just really sweet and wanted to do something for the wives!
so i think i will never eat so well again... at such an amazing place in my life! i can't even explain it... i will have to take pictures next time!
